Video marketing has become one of the most effective forms of internet marketing. In fact, it is one of the most powerful ways to market your local business products or services in today’s digital world. In fact, 90% of consumers report that videos help them to reach a purchasing decision.
There are many reasons why you should consider using video marketing as part of your local marketing strategy. The main reason is that people like watching videos. This is true whether you’re talking about the latest blockbuster movie, a YouTube video, or even a home video of your children. People like to see videos, and they also like to hear what you have to say.
People now watch an average of 19 hours of video each week, and a lot of this watched video content is produced by local businesses.

Videos are the second most popular type of content on social media to increase engagement with followers.
- Nearly 1 billion videos are watched daily on Pinterest

TikTok is the ideal social media platform for showcasing local services to people 40 years old and younger, particularly beauty treatments, nails and hairdressing services along with yoga and fitness classes.
Video and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
When you add a video to a website page you will see a search engine boost. With the recent Google algorithm changes, Google recognises that a video adds quality to the page in question and also visitors stay on the page longer decreasing your bounce rate.

What Types Of Video Marketing Content Are Most Popular?
Testimonials or review videos.
You can showcase positive reviews from your clients. Testimonials and reviews help build trust with potential customers/clients.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) videos These help customers/clients come to a purchasing decision because they get any questions they have about a product/service answered before they buy.
This type of video shows your ideal prospect how your products or services address a particular pain point customer/client,
They help educate your prospects about how to use your products and services and how they’ll benefit from them.
An animated explainer video combines graphics, text and animation to illustrate a complex concept making it easy to understand.
Like FAQ videos, these also answer questions prospects may have while providing entertainment at the same time, making them strong marketing and sales tools.
Over 80% of customers have been convinced enough by a promotional video to purchase a product or service. And over 60% are more likely to buy a product after seeing a video about it.
Promotional videos engage with your prospects through storytelling. They can also be used on your social media profiles to encourage sharing and engagement.
These are like movie trailers. They could tease your audience about a new product or service launch. A teaser video can offer a glimpse of the product/service or deliver a promotional discount or another pre-launch offer. This is a great way to build interest in a new product/service and guarantee sales before you even launch.
Case Study Videos
Case study videos are similar to testimonial/review videos. However, whilst a testimonial video may feature several clients, a case study will tell the success story of one particular client. This can be a before and after story that features relevant and compelling details about the client’s experience with the product or service.
